Biography of Antonio Velardo
Antonio Velardo was born in Naples, Italy, in 1977, into a modest family. At 19 he moved to Florida to pursue his dream of flying and earned a multi-engine, instrument-rated commercial pilot licence in Daytona Beach, later converted to the European JAA certification.
He went on to graduate with honours in Civil Engineering from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom — the technical foundation of his career in real estate. He worked in property sales in Spain and Cape Verde, where he rose to senior positions, and then launched his own projects as an investor and developer in Italy and North Africa.
After the 2008 financial crisis he shifted his focus to the United States, where his companies acquired distressed assets. Since then he has built an international group active in real estate, hospitality, financial markets and venture capital.
In the Dominican Republic, as Chairman of Real Capital Caribe, Antonio Velardo led the development of two condo-hotel buildings in Santo Domingo — Central Park Tower and Central Suites Tower — applying the same disciplined, value-oriented approach that guides all his investments.
